Return and Refund Policy
At Golden Ghat Spices, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase of authentic Indian spices. We understand that sometimes things don’t go as planned, and we’re here to help make things right.
1. Our 10-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
You have 10 days from the date of your purchase to initiate a return or exchange for any eligible item bought from www.goldenghatspices.com. If 10 days have passed since your purchase, we unfortunately cannot offer you a refund or exchange.
2. Eligibility for Returns & Exchanges
To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must be:
- Unused and in its original condition (unless the item was received in a damaged or defective condition, as outlined below).
- In the same quantity that you received it.
- In its original, unopened packaging, with all seals intact.
3. Damaged or Defective Items (We Cover Shipping!)
We take great care in packaging our spices, but occasionally, items may arrive damaged or defective.
- If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact us immediately at goldenghatthekkady@gmail.com within the 10-day return window.
- Please include details and clear images of the damaged/defective item and the parcel in your email. This will help us quickly assess the issue and facilitate your return or exchange.
- For genuinely damaged or defective items, we will gladly replace them at no additional cost to you. This includes covering both the original shipping cost and the return shipping cost for the defective item. If a replacement is not possible, we will issue a full refund, including original shipping charges.
4. Customer Initiated Returns (Change of Mind / Unopened Items – Customer Bears Shipping Costs)
If you wish to return an item that was correctly shipped and received, but is not due to any defect or damage (e.g., you changed your mind, ordered the wrong item, or no longer need it), the following conditions apply:
- The item must be unused, in its original, unopened packaging, and in resalable condition.
- You must initiate the return within 10 days from the date of purchase.
- In such cases, you will be responsible for bearing both the original shipping charges and the return shipping charges. These costs will be deducted from your total refund amount. We will provide you with the exact deduction amount upon receiving and inspecting the returned item.
5. Non-Returnable Items
For hygiene and safety reasons, and to ensure the quality of our perishable goods, certain items are exempt from being returned:
- Perishable goods such as food items that have been opened or are not returned due to initial damage/defect.
- Gift cards.
- Any item not in its original, unopened condition, or is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error (unless it falls under Section 3: Damaged or Defective Items).
6. Initiating a Return or Exchange
To start a return or exchange, please follow these steps:
- Email us: Send an email to goldenghatthekkady@gmail.com with your order details, the reason for the return/exchange, and, if applicable, images of the damaged or defective item and parcel.
- Await confirmation and instructions: We will review your request and provide detailed instructions on how to return your item, including shipping details and estimated deduction amounts for customer-initiated returns.
- Ship your item: Once approved, please mail your product to:NATURE & LIFE, KP-XII/1501, Vettoonickal Building, Opposite Vyaparabhavan, Kumily, Idukki District, Kerala, India – 685 509We recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance for returns, especially for more expensive items, as we cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
7. Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email notification confirming receipt of your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
- If your return is approved, your refund will be processed promptly.
- A credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment within 7 days from the date we receive the returned item.
- For customer-initiated returns (as per Section 4), the refund amount will have the original and return shipping costs deducted.
8. Late or Missing Refunds
If you haven’t received your refund within 7 days of our confirmation that it has been processed, please follow these steps:
- Check your bank account again.
- Contact your credit card company, as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
- Contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
- If you’ve done all of this and still have not received your refund, please contact us at goldenghatthekkady@gmail.com.
9. Gifts
- If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return once the returned item is received. A gift certificate will be mailed to you.
- If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver, and they will be notified of your return. Please note that in such cases, if the return is customer-initiated, the shipping costs will still be deducted from the refund.
